Cape Cod After Dark is an incredible sight to behold. Starry beaches, beaming lighthouses, the iconic bridges of the canal and more come alive under the dim light of the night when colors beyond the capability of the human eye can be captured on camera.

This adventure brings you the opportunity to photograph a variety of subjects under various lighting conditions. Clear skies allow for the late night Milky Way to shine through while light painting will create incredible opportunities even on the cloudiest of nights. Rest assured, there are photos to be taken under nearly any conditions.

Join a small group of photographers lead by an instructor that has hosted thousands of people over the last fifteen years right here on Cape Cod! No one has logged more hours education photographers after dark here.

What To Expect:

You can expect to visit at least two locations per evening for a minimum of 8 amazing locations during your experience. This includes Nauset Light, Highland Light, Coast Guard Beach, Stage Harbor and more!

We will be staying up late as the Milky Way makes its appearance after 11pm. Spend the first few hours shooting star trails, practicing your settings and thinking about compositions. Or, just relaxing under a starry sky!

Each day will be split between an educational photography module / review session and our field shoot. There will also be a daytime surprise or two! You will receive printed course material.

Our group will be small - just seven people! This helps ensure that you get more opportunities to photograph your favorite subjects without having to wait your turn or worry about a large group of photographers photobombing your compositions. Each location will provide a wide space (pun intended) in which to be creative.

All skill levels are welcome! This experience can be as interactive as you choose! It's my priority to ensure you get great photographs and gain new skills to last you a lifetime. Some people come just for the opportunity to shoot within the safety of a group, to meet like minded photographers or as beginners hungry to learn as much as possible. Whatever your reason, you'll have a great time!

Physical Considerations - Easy to Moderate

We will be walking with gear for up to one mile on various terrains including sand, dirt, grass and pavement. Some of these locations may include dunes with moderate grades.

While not all locations will require such physical exertion, many will and we advise that you are comfortable with this to ensure you get the most out of the workshop. That said, you are not required to attend every location with us to enjoy this experience and are welcome to opt out of attending any particular location you may deem as being outside your comfort level.
