The Outermost Lighthouse At Night
Race Point Light is at the very tip of Cape Cod and provides abundant opportunities for photographers. Between the light house tower, the main building, the whistle house and the nearby shoreline, the compositions are endless. Unfortunately, so feels the walk out to the property without the help of a four wheel drive vehicle.
But fret not, I've got you covered. If you've ever wanted to visit this lighthouse for a night photography shoot without the hassle, this event is for you. The group will meet at the Race Point Beach parking lot and be driven to the lighthouse via jeeps. After the shoot, we will be picked up and returned to the parking lot. This is your chance to visit a location that might have been out of reach for you, until now.
Ideally, we will shoot for clear skies under starry or moonlit conditions, each providing its own type of night photography magic. And if that weren't enough, there are dunes in every direction should you'd like focus on the natural beauty of the area. If the clouds roll in, we will make the best of it anyway!
For this reason, the workshop will proceed regardless of sky conditions.

Gallery
Race Point After Dark is a highly weather-dependent night photography workshop. Weather conditions, offshore storms, beach closures, and seasonal nesting bird restrictions can all affect access to Race Point Lighthouse.
For 2027, rather than announce fixed dates that may need to be postponed or canceled, workshop opportunities will be offered as conditions permit in the Fall of 2027 (September / October). Our goal is to offer two sessions during this time.
How It Works
Join the Waitlist: A $25 non-refundable fee secures your place on the 2027 Priority Waitlist and will be applied toward the workshop entry fee if a space is offered to you.
Priority Notification: Participants will be contacted in the order their waitlist entries are received as workshop spaces become available.
Short-Notice Invitations: Workshop opportunities may be announced with as little as 48 hours' notice. Notifications will be sent by email and text.
24-Hour Response: You will have 24 hours to accept or decline an invitation. No response within that period will be considered a decline.
Remain on the List: Declining an invitation does not remove you from the waitlist. You'll remain eligible for any subsequent 2027 offerings.
The waitlist expires in 2027. There are no carry-overs or credits for the following year's offerings.

Gear Requirements
A digital camera with a wide angle lens that can achieve an aperture of f/2.8.
A sturdy tripod. It shouldn't shake or have any loose parts. Long exposures require complete stillness.
A ball head or pan head mount.
A shutter release cable which will allow your camera to take long exposures (longer than 30 seconds.)
Two fully charged batteries.

Physical Health Requirements
Participants should be in good physical health. A disruption to the group due to known health limitations or over-stating capabilities can spoil the experience for everyone, not just you.
When registering for this workshop, you are certifying the following:
You can carry your camera gear throughout the field shoot without assistance.
You are not taking medications that are known to cause dizziness or compromise balance as a potential side effect.
At least six months have passed since having surgeries that impact mobility including but not limited to knee, shoulder or back correction, and you are not actively participating in physical therapy for mobility issues.
Have not fallen at another group event due to medical or balance issues within the last 12 months.
