Martha's Vineyard Photography Workshop Holiday Light Series
Join a small group of photographers as we explore the holiday magic of Martha's Vineyard's two best lit towns. Transportation to, from and around the island is included in each of these single night adventures!

Edgartown
December 19 ,2026
The photography opportunities here cannot be overstated. Edgartown at Christmas has become part of my personal "must photograph" locations and I frequently find new, magical compositions with every visit and I know you will too.
Our workshop group meets at the steamship terminal in Woods Hole where we will begin our journey to the Vineyard. Once there, we will be transported to Edgartown - starting at Edgartown Light just after twilight. Your roundtrip steamship ticket and island transportation is included in your enrollment.
From there, we will stroll the picturesque sidewalks of Water Street while enroute to the town's lobster pot tree along the harbor and then on to Main Street. We'll then be transported back to the docks where we will make the return trip to Woods Hole. Our time shooting on the island is approximately four hours.
This event is limited to just six participants. If you've wanted the opportunity to shoot the very best of New England during the holidays with a few like minded people, this is it!
In addition to the transportation, participants will receive workshop specific reference material and a supply of CHRISTMAS COOKIES to help keep you going through out the shoot.
Gear Considerations
1. A digital camera with a wide angle lens. A basic 18-55mm like the one you received with your camera is fine!
2. A sturdy tripod. It shouldn't shake or have any loose parts. Long exposures require complete stillness.
3. A shutter release cable which will allow your camera to take long exposures (longer than 30 seconds.)
4. Bring your gloves. It's winter! But seriously, dress appropriately. A winter hat and jacket, toasty socks and warm gloves will make your experience a lot better. If there's any snow on the ground, make sure your boots are waterproof.

Health Requirements
Participants should be in good physical health. An avoidable disruption to the group due to known health limitations or over-stating capabilities can spoil the experience for everyone, not just you. When registering for this workshop, you are certifying the following:
You can carry your camera gear throughout the field shoot without assistance.
You are not taking medications that are known to cause dizziness or compromise balance as a potential side effect.
At least six months have passed since having surgeries that impact mobility including but not limited to knee, shoulder or back correction.
Have not fallen at another group event due to medical or balance issues within the last 12 months.

Oak Bluffs
December 20 ,2026
Join us at the peak of the holiday season for a night photography stroll filled with lights and magic as we explore the tiny houses of Oak Bluffs.
While many of these tiny homes go dark for the winter, several become aglow with the flare of a Christmas story book.
Our workshop group meets at the steamship terminal in Woods Hole where we will begin our journey to the Vineyard. Once there, we will be transported to Oak Bluffs - starting in the neighborhood just after twilight, eventually emerging into Ocean Park to photograph the decorations around the gazebo. Your roundtrip steamship ticket and island transportation is included in your enrollment.
We'll then be transported back to the docks where we will make the return trip to Woods Hole. Our time shooting on the island is approximately four hours.
